Pros:
Healthier Diet than most low carb diet plans, based on a satisfying, healthful, and cleansing combination of essential fats, balanced proteins, and quality carbohydrates. Many dieters report increased energy, sounder sleep, improved skin texture and stronger nails, and decreases in depression and anxiety.
Cons:
This diet can be very time consuming and expensive, but these really are the only cons I have personally found. The shakes recommended are expensive and so are the oils and sweetner substitues. It is very time consuming to prepare the meals expecially if you have a family whos members are not on the diet with you- its a two meal plan every night- I will however say that the time and money are worth it while using this plan, because if followed you can not help but look and feel better in general across the board regarding your health. It's a nice change from your normal low carb diet and a nice change from the sluggish results usually yielded in most of these types of diets.
Cost:
This diet as mentioned above can get costly with things on the menu like specific spices, protein powders, slax seed oil, certain sweetners, and just specialty things in general. The fish and meats can get expensive unless you stick the the affordable types which are mentioned and allowed. Still worth its weight as far as diet plans go.
Ease:
It CAN be easy if you get into a routine and stick with it. It can be difficult if you have a fmaily and need to prepare two meals a day three times a day for your partner and kids. I wouldnt say this diet is "easy" but in the same note I dont think diet and ease are two things that come together otherwaise no one would be overweight and dieting wouldnt be such a feat. The point is that this diet can yield great results when followed correctly and it does actually get easier as you go along and reach the later phases.
Results:
Great results! Not just in weight loss either. After two weeks on this diet I found myself feeling more energetic, happier, and easier relaxed. The first two weeks result in the most weight loss with the punds dropping tapering off in the third and fourth weeks. The idea is to change the lifestyle and the way we eat. The good thing is that once you start eating this healthy you will notice the things that your body craves are not sugars, and carbs but healthy foods that feed a healthy body spirit and mind.

The diet emphasizes essential oils (e.g., flaxseed and GLA), protein (eight ounces or more, plus two eggs a day), vegetables, thermogenic spices (e.g., ginger and cayenne), water, and diuretic beverages (eight glasses/day of diluted, unsweetened cranberry juice). In its first two-week phase, the plan is a rigid, low calorie (1,100-1,200 calories/day), low-carb (no grains or starchy vegetables) diet. Phase two lets you increase your calories to 1,500 and add two "friendly carbs." Phase three, the "lifestyle program," moderately adds more dairy, carbs, and calories. Gittleman promotes walking and recommends strength training in phase three.
