Cost:Some items can be hard to find and when you do find them, they tend to be a little on the expensive side. Search for health foods stores that carry the brands you need and if you cant find them, you can request your local grocery sotre carry the items. They are usually pretty good at filling the requests of customers, and you will probably find that you are not the only one requesting the items mentioned in the book.
Ease: Great book to read and easy to follow along with. The hard part comes in when you are making meals for yourself and others who are not on the diet as well. Can be diifucult to plan if you are already a busy person which almost everyone is. Getting into a rountine will make this easier.
Results:Quick weight loss in the beginning, with a tapering off during phase three. The phase three yearns to teach a lifstyle change that will not allow the weight back on as soon as you are off of the diet.

The South Beach Diet breaks down into three phases which intergrate the concept of these things: Restriction of 'bad' carbs (white flour, sugar etc.),
proposal of plenty of 'good' carbs (fruits, vegetables and whole grains),
intergration of "ample fats and animal proteins" (lean beef, pork, veal and lamb), along with the consumption of healthy mono- and polyunsaturated fats (olive oil, canola oil, etc.). The siet has seen much publicity recently due to the fact that it is less restrictive than the Atkins, yet still yeilds a dramatic weight loss in the initial period of the deit, while unlike the Atkins, teaches the maintainance of a healthy lifestyle which promotes the longevity of weight loss and a more fit body. The plan focus's is teaching us how to eliminate sugar and unhealthy food cravings leading us to develop a liking and desire for healthy, nutritional foods. The diet often refers to itself as not a "low-carb diet, low-fat diet" but a "good car, good fat diet" showing that the idea is to know WHAT it is we are eating, what it does to our bodies, and what we need to do to keep our weight at a normal healthy rate. The diet seems to be a good way to get rid of cravings, and get onto a path of more benefitial health choices.
